About this deal

We take care to make sure product details are correct but the information shown, including vegan and vegetarian suitability, ingredients, and alcohol by volume (ABV) may change. Nose - Aromatic with enticing aromas of vanilla, caramel, banana and milk chocolate with a hint of fresh ginger. A typical allround Speyside malty nose with citrus fruits, apples, pears and banana. Some malt sugars and a sherried edge with chocolate and raisins. A subtle whiff of smoke. Not bad at all! Matured in American oak barrels and finessed by three different types of sherry cask to complement the sweet, mellow flavour of Tamnavulin.

I prefer bourbon coming from USA but wanted to try this while traveling in Sweden. Took 1 glass to get familiar with the taste, but i found it to be delightful change from my heavier bourbon taste Founded in 1966 in the small village of Tomnavoulin, Tamnavulin is a relatively modern distillery by scotch standards – but one that has experienced several ownerships and periods of inactivity. Though originally designed as a contributor to blends, it has been producing single malt expressions of its own since the 1990s and now has a substantial range of core bottlings and limited releases. Their core range includes a selection of NAS offerings. The flagship bottle is the Double Cask , which was the distillery’s first release for over 20 years and has been finished in sherry butts to give it added richness. They have also launched a series of Red Wine Cask Editions, which sees Tamnavulin experiment with the likes of Spanish Grenache and German Pinot Noir . Tamnavulin has a classic Speyside profile and is known for its smooth and soft character. Using water from the nearby River Lent, high-quality barley and ex-bourbon barrels, they’re able to produce approachable whisky with delicious notes of honey, fruit and malt. Mindössze 12 mindenre elszánt szakember alkotja a Tamnavulin csapatát, akik a fermentálástól az érlelésig a szakma minden fortélyát ismerik, és gondoskodnak a párlatok mesteri aromarakterének kialakításáról a Tamnavulin whisky esetében. Double Cask matured for a classic Speyside taste; rich, smooth and mellow. The distillery at Tamnavulin was opened in 1966 on the banks of River Livet, deep in the heart of Speyside, the most celebrated whisky producing region in Scotland.Palate: Thin body. The tongue burn is almost nonexistent. There is a hint of smoke, like smoked salt, but mostly it’s all about toasted nuts, dates, and chewy buttery toffee. A first new official bottle release from this lesser known Speyside distillery in many a year, double oak aged in Ex-Bourbon and Ex-Sherry casks. A cursory examination of online whisky retailers shows that while Tamnavulin whisky is available in the US, it is only carried at a few shops. Distribution is much wider in Europe and the UK. The Double Cask was the first modern single malt expression from Tamnavulin, which now also sells a Sherry Cask, a Red Wine Cask, and a number of exclusive editions.
