About this deal

It still has an elliptical tip but with a different sonic signature, a little smoother, maybe a little less in your face but still very musical and I never noticed any IGD. The biggest downside with the AT95E is that it can sound a bit boring and boxed-in, whereas the Ortofon 2M Red might become slightly fatiguing in the long run, especially if you have a bright system.

I have not mounted the 95E on the Ittok, but it would be interesting to see how it goes in a better setup. They supply slot-head screws, which are a total menace to fit if you attach them pointing upwards as you are supposed to. For the AT95, I have the original 95E stylus, a 95EX stylus, an LP Gear carbon cantilever stylus (no model number marked on it), and a Black Diamond. Whether one would consider either to be better than the other probably depends on the words I use to describe them (e.I'm debating between the VMN95ML -- which I know will probably take care of a lot of the sibilance/IGD/pinch noise I'm experiencing -- or the two aftermarket tips available via Turntable Needles and LP Gear, the ATN3400 HyperElliptical and ATN95VL VividLine, respectively.

Mysteriously this has virtually identical specs to the standard stylus (same elliptical profile as later AT95E stylus, same tracking force at 2g) yet does manage to deliver improvements. It still has an ellipitical stylus, but unlike the bonded ones on the VM95E and the AT95E, it's a nude ellipitical.Yet when tested on the Kenwood unit that it was originally mated with, the tracking ability with warped records was excellent at the recommended tracking weight and even at reduced tracking weight down to 1 gram! If you’d rather spread the cost over 36 months, you can set up a loan repayment plan when the payment-free period comes to an end at 19. The AT100E is certainly more focused than the AT95E right across the frequency range, with a firmer bass and a sharper treble, uncovering noticeably more detail.

It should be noted that a special stylus with a finer elliptical profile is available for the AT95E, with part number ATN95EX.

remplaza a una numark groove tool y se nota instantáneamente la mejora en los medios y agudos mucho mas claros. High frequencies are generally delivered with a good degree of clarity, although some recordings reveal a slight lack of focus and refinement. The AT95E's, while it does require some patents to break in (20/30 hours), the quality you get out of the package is amazing for what you pay for.

The AT95E/HSB provides outstanding overall performance for mid-range systems due to its elliptical diamond stylus and dual magnet setup, and comes preassembled with a HS10 headshell for a quick and easy set-up. Thanks for the confirmation, though I must say: I have read conflicting things on sites like Vinyl Engine, in which people swear the new VM styli will fit on older 95E bodies with a bit of fiddling. What it may lack is an endearing personality, which the AT95E certainly has, but this is a matter of taste and undoubtedly many people will appreciate the fuller sound of the AT-VM95E. Such a low total capacitance is not easy to attain, requiring a phono pre-amp with very low capacitance, probably less than 100pF (after taking out cable capacitance). It is a better stylus profile, should give you more hours of service while also being more gentle on your records, and by most accounts the VM95 body has some improvements over the previous AT95.
