About this deal

From USA Today Bestselling author, Shain Rose, comes an epic and emotionally charged second chance standalone romance. I enjoyed this book, I read it over 2 days and did become a little obsessed but I just felt like something was missing… I can’t even put my finger on what. However, the male lead just really annoyed me with his entitlement towards the female lead I'm all for the alpha male persona(in books) but he was just a bit of a dick and the mistakes he made I feel was forgiven all too easily by the female lead not once but twice like .

She thought she was tough but didn't know the first thing about how to be a grown up and stand on her own two feet. Years later, Jax is reluctantly back in Aubrey’s life and the two struggle to fine their new normal. It's a bit longer than many contemporaries are, but I loved every word and there wasn't anything put in just for the sake of taking up extra space. It got a bit annoying after a while, especially since the ‘big dealbreaker’ could have been avoided if he just told her what he was doing (I still don’t understand why he had to wait to tell her – was it just for a big grand gesture? Ultimately this book defines almost, I almost enjoyed it, I almost was invested, almost but not quite.Between Jax and Brey they had such a strong connection that even though time passed nothing could break it. I spent years getting over him and now he’s back—the nation’s most-streamed artist and eligible bachelor… but I’m not falling for him again. Fast forward 6yrs, the H is a music star/ manwhore who is in a casual relationship with his PR manager (ow).

I felt the pain Aubrey went through with her loss of her mother, her painful childhood, and I loved the chemistry between her and Jax. Jax telling Aubrey he envisioned her every time he was with another woman, and justifying singing her song and kissing another woman to it, it was disrespectful and didn’t land as romantic as intended. The tight knit group of Bret, Katie, Jay, Rome and Vick was their anyhope of Jax making a come back? This book started out strong, the first couples of chapters were good and then holy hell, did it all go down the drain fast. I can see where some people would like this book bc it has some good ideas and the writing isn’t terrible, it felt a bit clunky sometimes but overall I can tell there is hidden potential. I am normally not bothered/triggered much by dark themes but this particular instance struck a nerve. Inevitable has had my feelings going haywire, my heart broke for Aubrey but to read about a young woman who has faced the devil and barely survived to tell the tale.
