About this deal

Certainly there is no classic or real oud in this M7. Most people associate with this note things like cowsh!!!!, some medical chords or other foul smelling things (by the way, so do I myself).

Base: Amber [probably something like Tolu Balsam], musk, mandrake root, labdanum, incense/frankincense, and something vanilla. She says: […] on the right day, it is one of my very favorite fragrances for men. [¶] As with most fragrances containing agarwood, it starts with a bit of a medicinal edge, but that fades along with the short-lived citrus top notes. After that, it is dark, warm, and dry, with a mild spiciness and deep earthy woods. To my nose, it isn’t heavy in the least, but it does make a statement, and the intensity of the vetiver and agarwood are not likely to suit you unless you like both notes. [¶] It is rare that I find a scent too masculine to wear, but M7 probably qualifies on that score. I do wear it, but I rarely wear it out of the house. On a man, it is one of the sexiest fragrances I can think of. I cannot complain about the durability, quite the contrary. I smell it on myself about 7-8h, which I find great. As I mentioned before, it has an enormous radiance at the beginning and you are very well noticed in the first 2-3h, which for me personally makes for a good Sillage I guess Ciste means Labdanum. Creating such transparency here and explaining the perfume process to the buyer gives me great advantages. On the front is big: woody57: in side by side wearing, my 2002 sample could barely be distinguished from the 2016 bottle. Only the the first 10min from the top are different, afterwards it's nearly identical.

I am glad I have both, but I am so very pleased to have the original YSL M7 in my collection. It's a masterpiece of perfumery. It smells like sex, just in a bottle. That’s all. Yes, there is so much more, but that’s all that you, dear reader, need to understand here. There’s nothing else quite like vintage M7, and it lasts for DAYS. M7 was one of the most hyped fragrances around 2008-2012. As an Arab, I didn't find it oudy. It was an ambery incensy scent with light woody sweetness, & a hefty dose of patchouli that gave it a lot of depth. The 1st version was too heavy & too mature for most to wear, inc. me, but I bought it because of the hype. It grew on me with time. There’s a man who comes to mind when I wear (vintage) M7, the groundbreaking oud eau de toilette from YSL. Each and every time, I see Zinedine Zidane (or “Zizou”), the legendary football/soccer player. He is dressed in the most beautifully tailored, sleek, expensive, dark suit as he sits in the shadows on the white marbled terrace of the Monte-Carlo’s Hermitage hotel one balmy summer’s night. I discovered this scent about half a year ago in a perfumery and knew of its existence, but I had put off testing it for a long time, as I was still a beginner at that time (I would still call myself a beginner) and therefore preferred other scents.First western oud? Definitely not. As you mentioned, Krigler and Balenciaga did it be fore, but I find surprising that you forgot to mention the real first fragrance to have oud in its composition: Guerlain Habit Rouge Eau de Parfum . I can't deny it, there is a certain melancholy in M7 Oud Absolu. It is not a fragrance that is sad, oh no. But due to the interplay of dry citrus fruits with the serious resins and spices, the cheerfulness is a bit cloudy and cloudy. The current version appears fuller and a little richer in features. Towards the base, however, they are then very similar. For the rehearsal I would like to thank Terra! On the one hand the feeling as if the oud would bring a depth and maturity into the perfume which makes it a very noble perfume and on the other hand as if the whole menu would be served in a cowshed. Oud is something special. In this combination, with the fruits and the salt, it is converted to mass production.

I have to say a big word of praise. The main components of the perfume are listed on the bottle. Here called chords: But as if that wasn't enough for now, we are greeted by a fragrance from the kitchen that gives this perfume its name ... Anyway, that's how I perceived it at the time, it smelled spicy, warm, oriental. At first the scent startled me, but even when it was my turn I perceived the scent as very pleasant and masculine. Every time the door opened and the hot, sultry air of the street blew in, the spicy oriental was again noticeable. These fruits determine the enormous sweet portion of the perfume. These remain present even beyond the top note and have a decisive influence on the course of the fragrance. I personally am a tangerine fan and this first impression was positive for me. It is rounded off with a good pinch of salt (I perceive it at least subtly). When I entered a barber shop in Caracas in the mid-90s, I was immediately hit by a scent when I opened the door. A scent that made me think about whether I had possibly opened the wrong door, the door to another service perhaps. This is Hardcore Sex in a bottle!!! Its Sweaty, Its Dirty, Its Intoxicating…. Its so damn nasty…..I wouldn’t be surprised to know that this one has pheromones on it.

With the Santal Royal by Guerlain and Intense Oud by Gucci I owned two other oud-heavy treasures besides the M7 for a long time, but in the end I passed them on, because the Santal Royal was simply too leathery and the Intense Oud was too sour because of the saffron (I also wanted to reduce my collection, which fortunately went well for me recently). YOWZA! YOWZA! YOWZA! [..] “M7” is unashamed of its sexy, primal, and animalistic bed-scent persona. Any man entering a room with a bunch of ladies better proceed with caution while donning this fragrance…..They won’t be able to keep their hands to themselves. I know I wouldn’t.

4. UNITED COLORS OF BENETTON — UNHATE

Oud Absolu still kept the original scent DNA. You can still smell the scent of M7 in all of it's versions, just lighter nowadays. The 3rd is closer to the 2nd than the 1st version. I’m beginning to think Mr. Tom Ford and I have probably the same skin chemistry. I get great longevity not just from M7, but from all of his creations (which may be part of the reason I like them so much). This one really *was* ahead of its time. Makes one wonder how things might have been different if it had entered the market after oud became such a popular note. I bet if it were released again today it could sell like hotcakes. The opening is introduced by some citrus fruits, especially orange and mandarin for me. However, these fruits are not bright and sunny and cheerful as usual, but rather steamed and they are already a bit drier. This may be due to the mineral notes that are not specified in detail. Rosemary, which I can also smell, and patchouli further darken the citric influence. And a certain dryness I also feel Oud then becomes noticeable, but doesn't come too clearly to the fore and keeps the fragrance within the wearable range for me. This special, slightly tart and austere note is present but does not spoil the fragrance for me. It has a certain medically appearing character. But this is not a bitter medicine, but a tasty one. In the base, I find it to be balsamic-sweet and spicy-warm, which should be due to the myrrh and amber. The freshness from the opening is retained throughout the fragrance, although not as strong as at the beginning
