About this deal

Available in eight shades, create any luminous look desired with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting blush. Apply with the No. 2 Foundation/Blush Brush after swirling it across the entire compact to collect the desired blend of powder and pigments. Key Benefits For example, the “Dim Infusion” blush means that the blush is infused with the “Dim Light” powder, hence the marble-like swirly combination of the blush color and Dim Infusion powder on the pan. Unlike conventional blush powders, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush creates vivid cheeks that are never dull or one-dimensional. Photo-luminescent technology works to deliver depth and vivacious colour. This blush captures the light to create a soft glow on the cheeks. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush uses the renowned miscelare technique, and works to provide a vivid finish that complements and enhances the entire complexion.

This particular shade can make my skin appear slightly darker if I can’t use a larger powder brush with it, which I struggle to use with this palette as the individual pans are on the smaller side–better for small, tapered highlighting brushes and blush brushes but less ideal for a powder brush. Diffused Light is a translucent, yellowed beige with subtle, warm undertones and a natural finish. As a finishing powder, it had translucent coverage that applied a veil of natural-looking powder all-over the skin. The texture was silky-smooth, finely-milled, and easy to work with, and it performed consistently with past iterations I’ve tested of this shade (in palettes and as a standalone product). These powders are very powdery when you swirl your brush on the pan, however they do not apply or look powdery on the skin at all. They’re so easy to smooth out! One of the greatest parts of my skin type is that I have an even tone. Being olive-skinned, I don't get any redness—a blessing at times since I don't have to focus on color correction or concealing sensitivity. However, I’m also a fan of that freshly flushed look, so I like to use coral cream blushes to brighten up my base. Hourglass is extremely well known for its strikingly beautiful ambient lighting powders, blushes & bronzers, as well as its super popular veil mineral primer. I think my disappointment stems from the fact that I’m not getting the glow I thought these would perhaps produce. On one side the naturalness of the color is stunning and the formula simply beautiful to work with but on the other I really wish they had more of a glow to them versus the semi-matte finish they seem to produce. The Hourglass palettes are not a “value” kind of palette–you aren’t getting a ton of product for your money, but you are able to get six products for less than the cost of purchasing six, individual and full-sized products, which is really the upside. If you’re someone who expects to mix between the two finishing powders, then the size of each palette may not be a big deal, but using them alone is a pain point for those who like working with a traditional powder brush. I just find they get over-applied by using smaller brushes and/or take forever to apply.

These have a velvety smooth finish and gives a slight glow to the skin, but not as “glowy” or “luminous” of a sheen as the Clinique Cheek Pop though. These blushes lasted a bit longer than the Clinique Cheek Pop blushes, showing signs of fading only after the 8th hour mark, which is very remarkable! Create a bright and dynamic blush look with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush, a blush that brings together the amazing lighting effects of Ambient Lighting Powder with astounding hues. This blush is highly pigmented and works to blur direct light to create a wonderfully soft glow. that is, or may reasonably be considered to be submitted in extreme volumes and as such be deemed as ‘spam’;

For a flawless flush that will never fall flat, Hourglass has devised an irresistible new way to blush: Ambient Lighting Blush. This ground-breaking hybrid fuses the universally flattering radiance of the brands beloved Ambient Lighting Powder with vivid, uplifting colour to provide a seamless, soft-focus finish. The Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush is a stunning champagne rose shade mixed with Luminous Light for a natural and healthy flush to the cheeks. Ooh, I could swoon all day just by looking at the marbling and swirls of colors of these lovely blushes!Hourglass Mood Exposure Ambient Lighting Blush is one of six new shades of blush that Hourglass Cosmetics launched for Spring 2014 which combine swirls of blush into their popular Ambient Lighting Powder. It’s basically an improved version of Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder as you’re getting the benefits of a blush along with the soft focus of the powder. It is an equally spot-on drugstore dupe for the hourglass ambient lighting powder palette and ElleSees put together a great comparison post with swatches of all the colors side by side to show just how crazy similar the two palettes are. I got four out of six of the blushes, reason being the Ethereal Glow is a bit too pale for my light-medium complexion (they do show up on the skin but requires a few layers, and I just can’t be bothered to layer up my blush) and the ever-so-popular Dim Infusion was sold out. Boohoo!

Each blush is a mixture of one of the Ambient Lighting Powders along with a color pigment. As Hourglass describes it: The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Palette is an EXTREMELY POPULAR palette since you get access to a few different shades of the ambient lighting powders to play with in your makeup routine. that is, or may reasonably be considered to be, defamatory, libellous, hateful, racially or religiously biased or offensive, unlawfully threatening or unlawfully harassing to any individual, partnership or corporation; COOLEST-TONED: Ethereal Glow (by a long shot!) is the only truly cool-toned shade. Mood Exposure may possibly look cooler-toned on fairer, naturally cooler-toned skin (I can’t get it to look very plum on me, but in the pan, it looks cooler-toned). Mica, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Boron Nitride, Hdi/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Octyldodecanol, Benzoic Acid, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Dehydroacetic Acid, Diamond Powder, Dimethicone, Ethylhexylglycerin, Laureth-7, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Phenoxyethanol, Polyacrylamide, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Potassium Sorbate, Silica, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Sorbic Acid, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Tin Oxide, Trimethylsiloxysilicate. May Contain (+/-): Red 7 Lake (Ci 15850), Red 40 Lake (Ci 16035), Carmine (Ci 75470), Ultramarines (Ci 77007), Bismuth Oxychloride (Ci 77163), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499), Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891)Although I must admit I gravitate towards the Clinique Pop Blushes more (because I’m a fan of the dewy skin look), this one deserves as much love because the overall quality and longevity is just remarkable. I lean more towards the Clinique blushes because they have more of a “glow” to it, but these blushes were not created to have as much shimmer particles as the Clinique anyway, so I can’t complain. Uses: A blush-highlighter hybrid that deposits a healthy dose of multidimensional color to your complexion. It’s often less matte than a setting powder and is finer and more translucent (though there are illuminating setting powders that exist, too). I’ve personally used this as a setting powder, and I find the additional powder does extend the wear of base products by an hour or two. The consistency was finely-milled, silky, and smooth, though a smidgen dusty in the pan.
