About this deal

Having suffered from my own mental health and PTSD for many years, I always like to hear from others who can share their own personal stories. That being said, I can honestly say, that this is one of the most raw and honest books I have ever read. To see Joes life, soul and mistakes laid out on paper really takes willpower and strength. For me, the reason that I think this book is so impacting and moving is because he doesn’t write this out of a place of being ‘fixed’ or better’ but, as he says a number of time, he’s still broken and willing to give us an insight into that brokenness. The thing that I think I liked most (if that’s that right word to use) is making people see that just because you’ve been fixed once, it’s okay to break against, it’s not a once fixed always fixed kind of illness.

Essentially what BPD is is, I have a voice in my head that hates me and hates everything I do, everything I've been, and everything that I'm ever going to be." Final note to say is to say that the comedy in this book will have you laughing at things you thought were morally wrong to laugh at, but here you are belly laughing at suicidal jokes. He tries to explain what your life is like when you essentially have a brain that's trying to kill you every day.' Joe Tracini (born Joe James Pasquale; 19 July 1988) is an English actor, presenter and author. He appeared in the role of Dennis Savage in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks. [1] His previous TV acting credits have included the BBC Three comedy series Coming of Age and the Boomerang children's sitcom My Spy Family. His theatre credits include Spamalot, starring in the role of Patsy during a touring version of the production in 2015. [2] In 2022, he published his first book, Ten Things I Hate About Me. [3] Early life [ edit ] He doesn’t delve into where his BPD came from, although it’s fairly obvious his Mum and Dad weren’t Mr and Mrs Perfect Pants Parents. Perhaps that’s because they’ll be reading his book? But he does make it obvious they were more likely to take a pair of shears to pernicious weeds in the garden rather than dig them up by the roots. Disapproval and emotional distance are clearly big factors in his family dynamic.

I’ve done more good things than bad things, but I never remember the good ones because I only feel the bad ones.He has also written a book called 'Ten Things I Hate About Me' to help others in a similar situation, and says he struggles to stay alive everyday because he believes his brain is trying to kill him.

However, the interview caused a divide between viewers, with one saying: "Get him off, this is causing me anxiety. #lorraine" Read More Related Articles

I laughed and cried my way through this book and ultimately I now feel a little bit more confident that I won't actually k*ll myself. The book is a difficult read and Joe talks through his life from one sh*tty moment to the next but he's made me feel less alone in my struggles and by far he's given the most practical and actionable advice on preventing su!c!de I've ever heard. This is because he recognises the difference between living with su!c!dal thoughts on a daily basis as opposed to the less nuanced, more reactionary portrayal and understanding of su!c!de that currently pervades media. I love Joe's honest videos and his hilarious dance routines and commentaries and found the first half of the book engaging and insightful. I managed to get my hands on this book 4 days early and devoured the whole thing in a day. I’ll start by saying that this book is a very heavy read, and as Joe points out, if you’re not ready to read this book or easily triggered then please don’t read it. Cinderella is a record breaker for Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre". Express & Star. 4 December 2014 . Retrieved 8 June 2015.

Speaking on Lorraine about her relationship with the 27-year old actor, who played Hollyoaks' Dennis Savage, Tamaddon said: "We are very happy. We don't stop lauging. He is like my best friend and my soul mate rolled into one. He is amazing." Joe Tracini To Star In Spamalot Tour Alongside His Father Joe Pasquale From May 11!". Broadway World. 15 April 2015 . Retrieved 17 April 2015. He's starred in many TV shows including Hollyoaks, Coming of Age and The Great Outdoors, and he's the host of the BAFTA winning 'The Dengineers'. It looks like Joe needs more help than promoting a book. Can’t even imagine the thoughts he goes through on a daily basis, but hearing him repeatedly talking about killing himself this early am is worrying! #Lorraine," said another. Arguments occur more frequently when they’re about something you can’t see, because if somebody can’t see something, it can be denied.Life is just so exhausting, he says, that there is not a moment when he is unaware of himself. Has he never felt inner calm? Actually, yes, there was one day, recently. I'm a big fan of Joe Tracini, so I was keen to read this book as soon as it was released. It was an enjoyable and interesting book. Joe's likability and humour that you can see on TV come across in the book, and I enjoyed the autobiographical element of hearing about Joe's life. Tracini can’t stand most of what is said in the media about mental health – he says so much of it is po-faced or exploited by celebrities to promote a product. “I used to be watching, thinking: ‘Yeah, great, when’s your album out?’” So many mental health narratives are sugar-coated, he says. “It’s empty and fluffy, like: it will get better. I’m a lot of things, but I’m not fluffy and what goes on up there isn’t fluffy. It’s not a nice little gif with a hug.” Former Hollyoaks star Joe Tracini joins father Joe Pasquale in Spamalot". Digital Spy. 15 April 2015 . Retrieved 17 April 2015. Writing this book has been the hardest thing I've ever done. It had to be dragged into the world, with my condition telling me that every single word, sentence and chapter was terrible and would make strangers walk up to me in the street and punch me in the face.
